Somewhere In The Middle of Busy
Somehow, we are already in the middle of August.
Summer on a flower farm moves quickly. One minute I’m waiting for the first blooms, and the next the fields are full, the cooler is overflowing, and the days are filled with cutting, designing, restocking and preparing for whatever comes next.
Life feels a lot like that too.
We spend so much time looking ahead — to the next thing on the calendar, the next job to finish, the next place we need to be — that sometimes we forget to notice what is happening right now.
This season has been busy, beautiful, exhausting and incredibly rewarding. Some days everything seems to come together. Other days I feel like I’m simply trying to keep up.
I’m learning that both can be true. You can be tired and grateful. Overwhelmed and happy. Busy and still deeply thankful for the life you’re living.
I’m fortunate to have family and friends who jump in when I need an extra set of hands, and a community that continues to support this little farm in so many ways. Every stop at the stand, subscription, workshop, celebration and kind word means more than you probably realize.
The flowers are already beginning to change, reminding me that another season is coming.
So I’m trying not to rush this one.
There will always be another list, another busy day and something else waiting to be done. But the older I get, the more I realize how quickly the seasons of life move too.
The flowers won’t look exactly like this again. This summer won’t come around again. The people around us, the celebrations, the ordinary days and even the messy ones are all part of a season we’ll someday look back on.
So for now, I’m trying to notice it.
To be grateful for the work, the people, the beauty and even the busyness.
Because sometimes the life we’re rushing through is the very life we once hoped for.
And maybe the best thing we can do is stop long enough to realize we’re already living it.
With gratitude,
Kelly

Beautifully said Kelley. Thank you so the reminder!!
Thanks for the reminder of stopping for a moment and taking in what is around us. I know I am always, go, go, go and on to the next thing that I need to stop and appreciate the moment.
