The Pansies Are Starting to Smile

This past month has been a full one.
Like most months in life, it has held a mix of things — some harder days, some beautiful ones, and many quiet moments in between.
But here at the farm, something steady has been happening.
Seeds are sprouting. The grow shelves are filling. Tiny green shoots are reaching toward the light, and little by little things are beginning to bloom.
And this week, the pansies have begun to smile.
I’ve always loved this part of the season — starting from seed and watching the growth unfold day by day. It’s a quiet reminder that good things take time.
Real life moves alongside the work of the farm. Some days feel heavy, and some days feel full of hope.
But the plants keep growing.
And flowers have a way of healing, too.
Sometimes they say the things words cannot. Sometimes they simply bring a little brightness into someone’s day. That’s one of the things I love most about bringing bouquets to the stand — knowing they will go home with someone, brighten a room, or be shared with another person.
Maybe that’s what this season reminds us.
Even after the harder days, life continues to move forward.
The light stays a little longer. Something begins to bloom.
And sometimes, the pansies start smiling.
A small reminder that the hard days don’t last forever.
Spring always finds its way back.
